Next Generation
For years, 11-16 year olds have been volunteering in Bournemouth
on the TEAM and Young Citizens projects. This year, the two
projects came together under one new programme called Next
Generation.

Over the following years, young people from both TEAM and Young
Citizens will be working together to strengthen their projects and
to give more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access to
exciting and inspirational volunteering projects.
Next Generation aims to get 1,500 11-16 year olds volunteering
over the next 5 years. We also aim to improve the way in which 30
Bournemouth organisations work with young people.
Next Generation targets West Howe, Boscombe, Wallisdown &
Bournemouth Town Centre.
Next Generation is managed by Bournemouth YMCA and is primarily
funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
Next generation is a new project that is going to run for at
least five years. Young people are right at the centre of how the
project works, so we've selected a small number of volunteers to
tell us exactly how it should be done!
What do we offer?
We offer opportunities for young people from across Bournemouth
to get invoved in volunteering. If you're part of a group, we can
create a project around your interest - like a talent show, making
a film or starting a gardening project. Or if you're an individual,
we can help you get involved in an existing project, or find you a
great place to volunteer in the community.
For all our volunteers, we provide support, training and
accreditation (that's a certificate!) We aim to reward all your
hard work with something fun too, like a day out or a celebration
event.
