Schools Work

Discussion groups are held in local schools on a variety of issues such as drugs and homelessness as part of the students’ Personal and Social Education. These discussions help to raise students’ awareness of the dangers of substance abuse and widen their understanding of social problems. Some members of the training team are YMCA residents and this work enables them to share their experience for the benefit of others, thereby giving something back to the community and boosting their own self-esteem.
